Easter Bunny 2011
Gus and Bo with the Easter Bunny
April 16, 2011
Mom and I took the boys to see the Easter Bunny yesterday at the mall. Gus was sooo excited the whole way over there. I thought he might get scared once we got there, but he just got more excited!! He was petting his face and arm and talking to him!! Bodee on the other hand...!!! He was fine as long as he wasn't sitting in his lap! Soon as he got down he said, "My not like Easter Bunny. I crynanin (crying)!" While we were waiting on our picture to develop Bo was waving, blowing kisses, and playing peek-a-boo with the bunny! Gus and Bo
(I appologize for the layout of this post. It's hard to read the sayings of each of the boys. I've changed it and spaced it 40 different ways but it just keeps jumbling it together! You fellow bloggers out there, is there a trick to make it space right?!?!) So it's been awwwwwwhhhiillle since I've posted!! After 6 years my camera finally took it's last photo! I got a new one last night so I plan to start updating more often! I wanted to blog a little about Gus. He's 4 now and his mind is a never-ending-wheel-turning-sponge!! I knew kids asked lots of questions, but I had no idea!! But his questions are not just "why this" and "why that" type questions. He wants to know MORE! I'll list some questions below...
Bodee is also VERY vocal for just turning 2. He carries on conversations now and he and Gus have the sweetest talks!! I've tried to capture a few of his sayings as well...
Gus' questions: "Why did Poppy not build our house in Amity closer to Mrs. Nina?" (We told him Poppy gave us our house. He now thinks Poppy builds ALL houses.) "Does Heaven have kitchens?" "Why does Jesus make us have tornadoes on Earth?" "Does Heaven have tornadoes?" (LOTS of Heaven questions lately...) "Why are ants here?" "What's under dirt?" "What do worms make?" Gus - "How do you make a snake in my name, Momma?" Me - "A snake?" Gus - "Yeah that name that goes like a snake!" (he draws something...) Me - "Oh an S! You write it like this..." Gus - "When I'm a Papaw and you're a Memaw, I'll have a mustache and we'll live in Mrs. Nina's house." Gus - "I'm a MAN, Bo!" Me - "Gus, do you want Momma to get another baby like Adi?" Gus - "No. Bo's enough." Gus - "Momma, what are we gonna do with him? I guess we'll have to sell him!" (talking about Bo when Bo does something he's not supposed to!!) Gus - "Momma, what are we gonna do with him? I guess we'll sell him to Scott so he can take him to jail!" (talking about Barry when he aggravates him!!) Gus - "When I grow up I'm gonna make garage doors. I'll make little ones for little boys to park their Gators in! I'll bring you a garage door, too, Momma." Me - "Bodee, what do you want to be when you grow up?" Bo - "A big truck." Bo - "I wub ewe da mos, Momma!" (he says this at the TOP OF HIS LUNGS! so sweet!) Bo - "Jump shake ewe booty!" (he says this in a very HIGH pitched voice while shaking his booty!) Bo - "My do it!" (he says this about...EVERYTHING!!) Bo - plip plocks - flip flops pour wheeleler - four wheeler crynanin - crying Gus also thinks he remembers his birth. He remembers coming out and seeing Memaw and Papaw standing there. He turned around and saw a hole in my belly. The doctor was gluing it back together and some dropped inside my belly. He got it out for me. Thank you, Gus. Gus can play the Wii all by himself. He knows how to plug it up, put a game in, get it started and choose games. He can even pick 2 players if Bo wants to play. All of the games have different levels and such. He knows which level does what and can go back and forth between them. It amazes me! Gus - 4 years old - 36 lbs. 9.6 oz. - 41 6/8 in. tall He had his 4 year shots in February and cried for just a little bit. He was quite a handful getting them done though! I took him and Bo to Wal-Mart afterwards to get a prize. Bo picked out a truck and Gus picked...nothing! He said he wanted Sonic ice cream instead! Favorite foods - hot dogs, bologna sandwiches, brocolli, cheeseburgers, mac-n-cheese, chicken strips and ranch, mashed potatoes, spaghetti, chips Favorite things to do - play with Bodee, ride the razor, play trucks and trains, ride his bike and Gator, ANYTHING OUTSIDE Bo - 2 years old - 32 lbs. 3.2 oz. - 35 1/2 in. tall Bodee is Gus' shadow! Anything and everything Gus does, Bo does. They are best friends one minute and worst enemies the next. Bo is a good sleeper. He's been sleeping in his own bed for awhile now. Most of the time he stays all night, but ocassionally he sneaks in with us. Bo is definitely a rough and tough little boy. He's not scared of anything which scares me! He's already had 1 ER visit, 1 hospital stay, 2 staples in the head, 12 packages of band aids, and numerous bruises. Bo can drive the Gator now. This causes many fights. A 2nd Gator will be at the Tolleson household before summer arrives. I think these 2 boys are pretty special! I thank God everyday He allowed me to be their Mom. My prayer for Gus and Bo are that they accept Jesus and share His Word. I pray that Barry and I can live a life so that they know what a Christian family is. And now that I have my spiffy new $80 purple Kodak camera I hope you can get a glimpse into the life of the Tollesons!!Tuesday, December 14, 2010
Mounts Christmas 2010
The traditional Mounts Christmas was a week late this year because DONNIE was unprepared...(: Just kidding. We had it at Jerry Ray and Debbie's house this year and everyone was there except Jeff (work), Chris (work), Shanna (w/Karter), Karter (sick), Landen, and Kenleigh (at their mother's). We had no new babies...a record! But next year we should have at least one. We had our Mexican potluck and there was soo much good food. It was great seeing everyone and getting caught up on the news and telling stories about the old days. Memaw and Pa would be so proud to see us all gathered up like that. After all they're the ones that made that mess!! (:

St. Louis with FCCLA!!
I went on my first ever out of state school trip. I wouldn't have went had it not been for Melissa and Carrie Jo!!! They helped tremendously by chaperoning!! We loaded 2 Tahoes --- TOP TO BOTTOM --- and with off we went with 10 FCCLAers. We were gone Thursday - Sunday at stayed at the Grand Renaissance Hotel. Everything that could have went wrong did - wrong rooms, different floors, no Internet, no hot water, power outage, no breakfast, only 3 channels, got lost twice, no three times, no four, never went in the Arch, got stopped by a cop, etc. etc. It just made for a more memorable trip in the end!! We can't wait for our next trip!!
Shannon Bailey model for us!!!
The girls are ready for the dance party!
Getting in a game of Phase 10 before our next meeting!!
The girls competed in the Knowledge Bowl...we were top 2 in the state so we advanced to Cluster...we got beat in the very last round!!! Very proud of all 5 of them: Breyssy Izaguirre, Dallas Crow, Sara Neel, Jordan Arivett, and Brayden Crump.
Goofin around!
Shannon, Marly and Me at Hard Rock
Chucky!!!
Would you go down these stairs??!
Sara and Obama...she was nervous
Recognize these folks?
Who looks scarier?!?!
The Arch! We went here 2 different days...After standing in line for almost 2 hours we had to leave because we found out there was another 2 hour wait after all that. We had to be back for a meeting, so we decided to try again on our way home. We though the Arch opened up at 6 a.m. so we arrived bright and early to watch the sunrise from the top of the Arch. HOWEVER, the parking garage opens at 6; the Arch at 9. Next time, girls, next time.

All About Bec
We had Mom's birthday party at the Tolleson residence on Sunday, Sept. 12 after church. Nic brought steaks and we had baked potatoes, mac n cheese, salad, bread...I'm hungry just thinking about it. Mamaw and Granny joined us. Hopefully this took Mom's mind off her upcoming surgery for one afternoon!!
So 11 days after Mom's birthday, she decided to go get a new heart. Well, just get hers fixed. She had 4 bypasses to remove 5 blockages. Surgery started about 8 and lasted 2 1/2 hours. Everything went just as they wanted it to. Praise God! I'm actually sitting at the hospital now while Mom sleeps. She hasn't had a cigarette in 3 days and says she has no desire for one!! Oh I hope it stays that way. Her breathing is already better. Recovery is rough but they keep assuring me she's progressing great. Thanks to everyone who has came to the hospital, made a phone call, sent a text message, etc. etc. and mostly for your prayers! Keep praying for a speedy and pain free recovery!!
I believe these are the feet of the best two girls I know!!
Pike County Fair 2010
FCCLA entered a booth in the fair and AGAIN we received Reserve Grand Champion!! It'll just make us try harder next year!! It was the cutest booth though. Dang it! (:
I entered some of Mom's Plum Jelly in the fair...first time she has EVER participated...she got 2nd place out of a bazillion entries!!! Yay, Mom!!
I also entered a pic of Gus and a pic of Bodee...obviously the judges have no taste.../:
We went to the parade on Tuesday and then walked around to look at the animals and ride a few rides. Gus was excited when he found Emily's pigs!! He kept calling the walk way to the building "Emily's bridge"! Too cute!
