What a Week

It started a week ago Friday. Gus started complaining that night that his legs hurt. I didn't think much of it until Saturday morning. He woke up and said he couldn't stand! I made him stand up and he said he couldn't walk! After a little bit he started to walk around pretty slow. In a couple of hours he was playing. He took a nap and woke up with the same complaints. I called the nurse and she said if he's not better by in the morning bring him in. Sunday I took him to Dr. Robert. He had swine flu!!! Gave him some tamiflu and said to get plenty of liquids and Tylenol. I questioned Nurse Anne at AR Children's Hospital to death! She said not to freak out that swine flu is nothing more than a mild case of the seasonal flu. For about 3 days everytime I touched Gus he said I hurt him. We kept him and Bo separate for the most part. My mom had Gus during the day and Monday night. By Thursday he was back to his old self! PRAISE GOD!! But.............he gave it to Barry! Barry said his body has never hurt this bad. He didn't go to the fair with us last night at Glenwood. Gus had a blast!!! He rode several rides and Matt took him and Montana to look at the animals. Then we headed to the rodeo until about 10:00. He conked out in no time last night!!!

My Boys

Yes, you're looking at the above picture correctly. Well it's 10 less toes I have to worry about trimming!
Yes, he IS way cuter than your kid!! (:

Playing the piano in his bedroom. He's like "Seriously, Mom. The camera AGAIN?"

Reading a book in his bedroom...one of his all-time favorite things to do!

Bodee's First Tooth - Sept. 15, 2009

If you look close enough you can see his tooth on the bottom front! I noticed Monday that I could see the tooth right under the gums. I called Mom and told her that I'm sure within the week he would have his first tooth. Then the very next night at Kim's house, Carrie Jo was feeding Bodee some cake. When he opened his mouth to get a bite...there it was!!! I almost cried. This is just the beginning of my little baby turning into a toddler. Almost makes me want to have a third. Almost.

My Lil' Preacher Man

Gus has been preaching for quite some time now. He gets up in the pulpit almost every Sunday with Brother Kenny and does his 30 second sermon. Kenny has him say "Repeat after me! Hallellujah! God is good! Praise the Lord! Amen!" It's so cute to watch him march up the aisle with his Bible tucked under his arm like he's on a mission trip! I caught him in his closet the other night rehearsing. He was so into it he never knew I was there! I just pray that he continues to have it in his heart to preach the word of God forever!!

Birthdays, birthdays, birthdays!!!

Gus didn't make this picture but Bodee is front row by Sydney.

I didn't take any pictures (I stole this one from Teralee's blog) but we've been to so many birthdays this month!! I just wanted to make a note about it. Last Saturday we had to pass up Mackenzie's 8th birthday bowling party because we went to Jacee's 4th birthday at the park!!! Gus had fun splashing in the puddles while Bodee crawled around on the pavilion floor.
Tuesday we went to Kim and Keith's and had birthday supper for Jeremy, Melissa, Jackson and Mackenzie! (I think that's it!!) Happy Birthday, everyone!!

Happy Birthday, Memaw!!

Memaw's birthday was Sept.12. We had burgers and hot dogs here at the Tolleson residence. The boys helped decorate a cake and Kason signed all their names on a card. (Did I mention he's in KINDERGARTEN!!!) Even Jenna Grace came down to help celebrate!!!

The Turners Turn THIRTY!!!!!!

OH NO THE BIG 3-0!!!!!!! So that has been the theme around our group for almost 2 weeks!!! Poor Melissa has been ragged about her birthday for so long! It started the Friday before she actually turned 30. She got to school and Jan had posted signs all over saying "Melissa is 30!" Her office was decorated with black streamers. At church the following Wednesday, Carrie Jo and I threw them a surprise party. (Jeremy turned 30 the same weekend!!) When they walked in there were 2 wheelchairs in place of their usual chairs!!!! HOWEVER, not only was Melissa's wheelchair a wheelchair...it had a built in potty underneath!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA. Of course we had cake and ice cream and LOTS of laughs!! Carrie Jo and I still give her a hard time about being older than us. I mean gosh...being born in the '70s?!?!?!

Looking OLD!!! (look closely under Mel's chair...notice the potty?!?!)
Had to have help from Grace to get the candles blown out!!

Ready and Waiting!!

Melissa's reaction to the chairs...priceless!!

The decor!!

Their Maxine cake!! Me and Carrie Jo are so gonna pay for all this one day!!!

8 months old = 2nd time to Doctor

Nina called me yesterday and said Bo had a 101 fever. When I got there she said an RN had just been there to pick up her daughter. She said not to take him to the dr. until his temp was 103!! That's just too long to me. I got him home and gave him Tylenol and took his temp an hour later...103.4! I called mom to go to the doctor with me. We got there about 6:00 last night and didn't leave until 8. The waiting room was PACKED! They tested him for the flu and strep...thankfully both negative. Sent him home with Zithromax antibiotics to fight off whatever it was. He is such a busy, busy little baby and since yesterday he just lays on you. It's bittersweet. His fever got to 104.4 today!! I called the nurse and she said not to bring him back until tomorrow if it didn't go down. She said it takes the Z a couple of days to kick in. He got up tonight and tried so hard to play. Below are some pics.

Gus was dancing and running around trying to make him laugh. So sweet.

You can tell by his eyes that he doesn't feel good. Poor baby.

He's trying so hard to have a good time!!
