Fun Weekends!

These past couple of months have just been filled with birthdays! And I don't think it slows down until February!!! Carter had his 8th birthday party at the skating rink here in town. Gus did NOT put on skates but enjoyed running around the rink! Bodee was happy being passed around (: as usual... I suprised myself by actually doing alright on skates after it's been _____ years since I've had any on. Except...well...limbo kicked my butt... (;

After the party, we dropped kiddos off here and there and had a night on the town for Carrie Jo's 29th birthday! It was the Tollesons, the Cooks, the Turners and the Neals. We rode go-carts, bowled and LAUGHED! Good, good times!

Montana had her birthday party this past weekend. Can't believe 3 years ago she was the size of a human hand and had tubes and wires out that wa-hoo!! God can work miracles, can't He??? She is such a smart and funny baby girl! After the Dora party some of us stayed and cooked burgers. We rode 4wheelers and played Rock Band (which I am SO good at...(; )
Fun times ahead for this weekend...Halloween parties, hay ride and trick-or-treating. Maybe I'll remember my camera on these trips...

Conversations...

Gus' conversations are pretty interesting lately. He puts things together that I didn't know he even knew. We have a few stripes of brown on our comforter and Gus said "What that color, Momma? That chocolate!"
Everything that is a baby Gus will say "like Bodee!". For example if he sees a puppy, he'll say "Baby puppy! Like Bodee!"
He has also started wanting his so-called privacy. He'll go in his bedroom and say "Get out here, Momma!"
He's very protective of Bodee. He will take Bo's night light out and go put it in his dresser drawer and say "Bodee can't reach it."
And if he says "No sir, Bo. No sir!" one time, he says it 100!!!
A conversation we had Wednesday morning was quite amusing. So I am on my way to drop them off and there's a truck turning in front of us. The conversation went something like this:
Gus - "What they doin, Momma?"
Me - "They're turning off, Gus."
Gus - "What they doin, Momma?"
Me - "They're turning off, Gus."
Gus - "Momma, what they doin?!"
Me - "I guess they're turning off the road, Gus."
Gus - "What for?"
Me - "I don't know. I guess they want to."
Gus - "What for, Momma?"
Me - "I don't know, Gus. I guess they want to."
Gus - "Momma, what for?"
Me - "Gus, I guess they wanted to turn off!"
Gus "He go see his momma?"
Me - With a smile, "I guess he's going to see his momma..."

What a Week

It started a week ago Friday. Gus started complaining that night that his legs hurt. I didn't think much of it until Saturday morning. He woke up and said he couldn't stand! I made him stand up and he said he couldn't walk! After a little bit he started to walk around pretty slow. In a couple of hours he was playing. He took a nap and woke up with the same complaints. I called the nurse and she said if he's not better by in the morning bring him in. Sunday I took him to Dr. Robert. He had swine flu!!! Gave him some tamiflu and said to get plenty of liquids and Tylenol. I questioned Nurse Anne at AR Children's Hospital to death! She said not to freak out that swine flu is nothing more than a mild case of the seasonal flu. For about 3 days everytime I touched Gus he said I hurt him. We kept him and Bo separate for the most part. My mom had Gus during the day and Monday night. By Thursday he was back to his old self! PRAISE GOD!! But.............he gave it to Barry! Barry said his body has never hurt this bad. He didn't go to the fair with us last night at Glenwood. Gus had a blast!!! He rode several rides and Matt took him and Montana to look at the animals. Then we headed to the rodeo until about 10:00. He conked out in no time last night!!!

My Boys

Yes, you're looking at the above picture correctly. Well it's 10 less toes I have to worry about trimming!
Yes, he IS way cuter than your kid!! (:

Playing the piano in his bedroom. He's like "Seriously, Mom. The camera AGAIN?"

Reading a book in his bedroom...one of his all-time favorite things to do!

Bodee's First Tooth - Sept. 15, 2009

If you look close enough you can see his tooth on the bottom front! I noticed Monday that I could see the tooth right under the gums. I called Mom and told her that I'm sure within the week he would have his first tooth. Then the very next night at Kim's house, Carrie Jo was feeding Bodee some cake. When he opened his mouth to get a bite...there it was!!! I almost cried. This is just the beginning of my little baby turning into a toddler. Almost makes me want to have a third. Almost.

My Lil' Preacher Man

Gus has been preaching for quite some time now. He gets up in the pulpit almost every Sunday with Brother Kenny and does his 30 second sermon. Kenny has him say "Repeat after me! Hallellujah! God is good! Praise the Lord! Amen!" It's so cute to watch him march up the aisle with his Bible tucked under his arm like he's on a mission trip! I caught him in his closet the other night rehearsing. He was so into it he never knew I was there! I just pray that he continues to have it in his heart to preach the word of God forever!!

Birthdays, birthdays, birthdays!!!

Gus didn't make this picture but Bodee is front row by Sydney.

I didn't take any pictures (I stole this one from Teralee's blog) but we've been to so many birthdays this month!! I just wanted to make a note about it. Last Saturday we had to pass up Mackenzie's 8th birthday bowling party because we went to Jacee's 4th birthday at the park!!! Gus had fun splashing in the puddles while Bodee crawled around on the pavilion floor.
Tuesday we went to Kim and Keith's and had birthday supper for Jeremy, Melissa, Jackson and Mackenzie! (I think that's it!!) Happy Birthday, everyone!!
